The context
Recent geopolitical tensions have highlighted the vulnerability of certain strategic sectors of the European Union, such as industry and agro-industry, to international instability linked to the energy market. In this scenario, energy independence and security have become fundamental priorities for industrial and manufacturing production.
The use of renewable energy sources, solar, wind, hydroelectric, and geothermal, is an effective solution for achieving energy independence. However, to achieve complete industrial self-sufficiency, it is necessary to integrate different technologies, combining renewable energy production, energy storage, and energy efficiency.
Project objectives
The project aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices on EU policies that promote:
- The integration of renewable energies.
- Energy storage.
- Energy efficiency.
The ultimate goal is to create self-sufficient industries, taking into account national and sectoral variables and company size. The trend toward energy independence is growing, driven by economic, environmental, and social factors.
