Repower Industries

The aim of the project is to promote energy independence for industries, especially in strategic sectors, by ensuring the energy self-sufficiency of factories and tertiary buildings. This will provide them with a continuous energy supply at any time and at an affordable price.

the context

The recent geopolitical tensions have highlighted the vulnerability of some strategic sectors of the European Union, such as the industrial and agro-industrial sectors, towards international instabilities linked to the energy market. In this scenario, energy independence and security have become key priorities for industrial and manufacturing production.

The use of renewable energy sources - solar, wind, hydro and geothermal - is an effective solution to achieve energy independence. However, in order to achieve complete industrial self-sufficiency, several technologies must be integrated, combining renewables generation, energy storage and energy efficiency.

project objectives

The project aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and good practice on EU policies that promote:

  • The integration of renewable energy.
  • Energy storage.
  • Energy efficiency.

Our ultimate goal is the realisation of self-sufficient industries, taking into account national, sectoral and company size variables. The trend towards energy independence is growing, driven by economic, environmental and social factors.

project initiatives

The program includes various practical activities:

  • Study visits and workshops in the various countries involved to observe local policies and pilot actions.
  • Market analyses related to the policies of the different areas of expertise.
  • Networking events to create connections with personnel from related sectors.
  • Local actions involving the business sector, policy makers and associations.
  • Development of an action plan to implement new policy management tools.
