The European Commission, in close collaboration with the EU member states, will host a pan-European hackathon to connect civil society, innovators, partners and investors across Europe in order to develop innovative solutions for coronavirus-related challenges.
The #EUvsVirus Hackathon will address imminent coronavirus challenges (e.g. fast production of equipment, scaling up production capabilities, knowledge and solutions transfer from one country to another), to be quickly developed and deployed across the EU Single Market. Challenges include Health & Life, Business Continuity, Social & Political Cohesion, Remote Working & Education, Digital Finance and any other topic deemed relevant to the crisis caused by the COVID-19.
Now is your chance to help tacle coronavirus! You can register participate as a problem solver, mentor or partner.
Registrations will close on 19 April 2020.
The event will begin on April 24th with the Opening Ceremony and will end on April 26th with the submission of ideas followed by the Closing Ceremony. The best projects will be awarded on May 1, 2020.
The European Commission, in close collaboration with all member States and the participating H2020 associated countries, will provide follow up to the best projects coming from the #EUvsVirus hackathon through the new EuropeanInnovation Council (EIC) Covid platform. Foundations, investors, health providers (e.g. hospitals) will also be part of the EIC Covid platform to ensure that the best ideas are turned into actual solutions to fight against coronavirus and its consequences.
