The "SLUDGE" working group of the European network Water Smart Territories (WST), of which the Cluster LE2C is part, has organized a webinar to discuss and share best practices on the latest developments in the field of sewage sludge management.
The webinar will take place on February 24th, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
The event will begin with the presentation of PHOSTER, the new project led by Politecnico di Milano, which aims to develop a sustainable circular economy solution for the recovery of critical raw materials such as phosphorus and magnesium from sewage sludge and mining industry by-products.
During the afternoon, the state of the art in sewage sludge management in Europe, the extraction of phosphorus from sludge, and the potential of treated sewage sludge for phosphorus recovery will be discussed.
In addition, on behalf of the LE2C Cluster, Dr. Anna Bruni of A2A Ambiente will present FANGHI Lab, the project that has experimented with new technologies for the treatment of sewage sludge to recover materials and energy.
The webinar will conclude with an open forum for discussion and exchange of ideas.
