KRILLMAT presents REKRILL RECYCLABLE, the 100% bio-based and recyclable polymer

KRILLMAT presents REKRILL RECYCLABLE, a new generation of 100% bio-based polymers developed to combine renewable raw materials, industrial performance and recyclability within the conventional plastics recycling stream, in line with the evolution of the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

A new response to the challenges of packaging

The PPWR, the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, introduces new criteria for packaging design, with increasing attention to recyclability and the reduction of fossil-based raw materials.

In this context, REKRILL RECYCLABLE was developed in Italy by KRILLMAT, an innovative SME based in Paderno Dugnano (Milan) specialising in the development of sustainable materials obtained through the valorisation of by-products from the food industry.

100% bio-based and designed for circularity

REKRILL RECYCLABLE is a 100% bio-based polymer, made from renewable raw materials and designed to be recycled within the plastics stream. It is compatible with established industrial technologies, including extrusion, injection moulding, rotational moulding and blow moulding, and can be used across different sectors, from packaging to cosmetics.

The material is also compliant with food-contact requirements in the EU, USA, Canada and Asia.

From by-product valorisation to materials innovation

Through its proprietary REKRILL® technology, KRILLMAT valorises by-products from the agri-food sector, transforming them into sustainable materials for industrial applications.

The company operates a 3,500 m² facility, with an annual production capacity of up to 4,000 tonnes.

REKRILL RECYCLABLE will be officially presented at Luxepack Monaco 2026, bringing to the market a solution that combines renewable raw materials, recyclability and industrial innovation.
