The University of Milan-Bicocca has been active for several years in energy issues, primarily through the activities of the Department of Materials Science and Department of Environment and Territory and Earth Sciences. In particular, in the Department of Materials Science and the Center MIBSOLAR (materials and devices for solar energy) for years doing research on innovative materials for solar energy, construction and production of fuel cells and hydrogen storage.  In the Department of Biology and Biotechnology activities related to biomass and bioenergy. Moreover, even at the Department of Economics and Business Economics and Law are research activities and projects as part of the 'economics of renewable energy and sustainability. The University of Milan-Bicocca is engaged for several years as a coordinator or partner in several European and national projects in the energy and member of EERA (European Energy Research Alliance).
