Thanks to their daily pollination activity, bees are responsible for 80% of the food available on earth and allow
to preserve biodiversity. Despite their importance for human well-being, bees are disappearing in recent years.
The annual mortality rate has reached peaks of 40%-50% due to climate change, antibiotic resistance and
pesticide abuse in agriculture.

To solve this problem, 3Bee has developed Hive-Tech, a Decision Support System for beekeepers based on IoT sensors and artificial intelligence algorithms. 3Bee's goal is to move from a chemical based approach to a data-driven one in managing beehives. Hive-Tech device detects the biological parameters that characterize the health status of the hive (temperature, humidity, sound spectrum, air quality).
The data collected by the sensors are analysed through Artificial Intelligence algorithms that allow to diagnose in advance the emergence of pathologies and anomalies, allowing the implementation of prompt and focused intervention.

By improving bee health it is possible to generate a positive environmental impact and, at the same time, optimize honey productivity from the beekeeper's point of view. 3Bee is now testing similar technologies to fight chemical abuse in other farming sector (Swine, Cow, and Vineyard).
