Fighting climate change by promoting the integration of circular economy, energy efficiency, and renewable energies
Lombardy Energy Cleantech Cluster, the Politecnico di Milano and the University of Brescia, organize - as part of the initiative "All4Climate2021" promoted by the Ministry of Ecological Transition - the conference "The Lombardy Roadmap for Ecological Transition", which will be held in hybrid mode on October 1, 2021.
The fight against climate change and the commitment to sustainable development are now essential guidelines at global level and must be top priorities for governments, civil society, investors and companies.
In this context, energy transition and circular economy are essential drivers for achieving the objectives of sustainable development and a carbon-free society. Energy efficiency and renewable energies will play a key role in achieving the target set by the European Union to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 and the zero-emission target by 2050.
With the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), the Italian government is moving in this direction, aiming to build a more competitive and sustainable country.
The challenges to be faced in order to achieve the expected results will certainly have to leverage on the joint action of the technological, economic, governance and training aspects. The conference aims to highlight the potential of integration between circular economy and energy transition in order to identify the most relevant ideas and proposals for a path that must be implemented at different scales (from global to local).
