LE2C promotes sustainable models and technologies to address the challenges of the green transition. Join the event and discover innovative projects in the field of the circular economy, focused on the responsible recycling and valorization of plastics, electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and exhausted batteries.
The Urban Waste Report 2022 by ISPRA has highlighted a significant increase in urban waste production in the Lombardy Region, reflecting the high level of societal well-being. This context underscores the importance of adopting the circular economy as a decisive path toward a sustainable future.
During the event "Circular Economy: Innovation and Research for a Sustainable Future" - organized by Lombardy Energy Cleantech Cluster as part of the 4th Forum for Sustainable Development of the Lombardy Region - a series of cutting-edge research projects that leverage technological innovation for waste recycling, valorization, and disposal will be presented:
- Syschemiq: Aims to develop a systemic approach involving various phases of the value chain to create urban-industrial districts for plastics. By uniting diverse stakeholders, the project paves the way for intelligent plastic waste management, reducing environmental impact and creating new economic opportunities.
- SMaRT PCBs: Aims to develop and establish an innovative, environmentally friendly approach for the recovery and valorization of precious metals and plastic-glass components from exhausted electronic boards, which belong to the category of WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment). The result could revolutionize electronic waste management, opening the doors to sustainable recovery.
- Tech4Lib: Seeks to model a circular, secure, and competitive value chain for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). With a special emphasis on sustainability, Tech4Lib aims to offer an advanced technological solution that reorients the life cycle of batteries and preserves key raw materials.
The event will take place on October 19, 2023, at Sala Falck, Assolombarda Servizi - Via Chiaravalle, 8 – 20122 Milan, Italy. Participation is free.
The event will be held in Italian and will take place in person.
