ENERGY CLUSTER

The Industrial cluster for power generation, transmission and distribution established by Regione Lombardia.

The Lombardy region represents a centre of excellence in the field of power plants, transmission and distribution/substations construction, recognized worldwide since the beginning of 20th century.

Energy Cluster is an industrial cluster promoted and supported by important firms, which are leaders in the field of energy, with the specific intent to promote and to create an integrated supply chain in different fields of energy plant investment, and to aggregate small and medium enterprises.

Energy cluster is also a network recognized as a supplier of excellence providing quality products and services and aimed at consolidating and capture the actual and future technical expertise, thanks also to the presence of a large number of research centres and universities specialized in energy sector.

The membership of more than 100 companies (small and medium size), 8 universities and research centres, 10 organizations of the public sector, of not-for-profit bodies and of industrial associations, is acting as a single focal point representing the energy industry. A number of different actors which are asked to create, together with enterprises, an extended laboratory where to develop research, innovation and training projects.

The application field of the products / services comprises every aspect from power generation, transmission and distribution side to end user side:
• Medium/large conventional utility Power Plants;
• Nuclear Power Plants;
• Renewable Energy: biomass, biofuel, biogas, solar pv, wind;
• Hydraulic and geothermal power plants;
• Transmission and Distribution.

The mission of the Cluster is to support member companies to become more competitive:
• operating as a network to reinforce and to develop the member companies to an everlasting competiveness, growth of product quality and of human resources;
• improving international visibility, markets knowledge, competence and ability to operate on international markets;
• consolidating the excellence in power generation, transmission and distribution business by increasing synergies among all institutions and companies in the region and realizing worldwide cooperation with other cluster organizations.
